Things to do in the Winter months

Venosc has easy access Les Deux Alpes ski resort via its own telecabine, Les Deux Alpes has 222km of pistes served by 47 lifts. The glacier provides all year round skiing with a top altitude of 3,568m. The resort has excellent snow reliability. The snow parks are amazing. Les Deux Alpes provides excellent skiing and boarding at all levels with very facility you would want in resort to support all your snow sport needs.

Venosc has Alpe D’Huez and La Grave close by. You can reach La Grave via the Les Dux Alpes pistes (not for the feint hearted) and there are plans afoot to link Les Deux Alpes with Alpe D’Huez with an 18 pylon gondola by 2023. La Grave and Alpe d’Huez are about 35 minute drive from Venosc.

 

Expert to beginner skiing and boarding

The piste variety is huge, catering for all levels, both on and off piste. ESF and European Ski School provide all levels of tuition and guiding. Les Deux Alpes Resort centre is 10 minute gondola ride from Venosc. Alpe D’Huez and La Grave are a 45mimute drive and Les Deux Alpes ‘all area’ ski pass includes a day in both.

  

Extensive off piste

Les Deyx Alpes, Alpe Duez and especially La Grave have many, many opportunities for off-piste skiing, touring, ski climbing, split board, heliskiing etc. Many are in very challenging areas and requires expert guides and appropriate survival equipment. We can put you in touch with the experts if you dare!

  

Snow park and jumping

Les Deux Alpes fun park his extensive and varied, with everything you would expect from a world class facility. With a fun park for Beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, it caters for all abilities with super large variety jumps, slides, rails, half pipes, several ski/board cross runs and more. You cold easily spend a day there and not notice.

Paraskiing & paragliding

There are several launch points for paragliding in les Deux Alpest, des Perrons, le Diable, la Grave, Col de la Sambuy and Refuge de L’Aigle. and Landings in Venosc, Les Deux Alpes, la Grave and more. If you are feeling adventurous, a treck to the Col du vallon and Breche Perier have stunning flights landing at Lac Lauvitel. Nearby in Alpe d’Huez, there the launch points land in le Bourg D’Oisan.

 

Ice skating

The ice rink is in the centre of les Deux Alpes and very popular. They have sessions on designated days where they have ice bumper cars you can hire to chase around the rink and have a fabulous time crashing about.

Kindergarten and snow gardens

The winter holiday companies, and ski schools all run classes for kids. The sooner you get your kids on skis the better. The snow gardens and infant slopes are at les Leux Alpes resort level. As soon as the kids get a little practice, they head off higher up to la Cretes beginner’s area

Downhill / GS

Experienced racing skiers wanting to train, can take advantage of the slalom runs set up for the ski racing schools. You need to set this up specially with ESF of ESS. Les Deax Alpes hosts the Independent School Ski Championships every year.

  

Chilling

You would be hard pushed to find a more tranquil and beautiful place to chill out in our chalet or in the cafes and bars in Venosc. The views form our roof terrace are stunning day and night, with shade and shelter always there form the rafters.

There are many easy walks with frequent stopping points where you can sit in the sun and absorb the scenery. There is plenty space and flexibility in our chalet to do yoga, set up you writing area or just meditate in very comfortable surroundings.

If you are staying off season there is barely a sound except for the rush of the la Cascade de Muzel in the distance and the occasional sound of children playing or the ring of the church bell.
