This is an amazing Dutch event raising money for Cancer Research.  Quitting is not an option. Over 5,000 cyclists, will climb the the ascent of Alpe d’Huez in one day, as much as 6 times!  The aim is to cover 84 km distance and 6700m altitude meters in the same day – not for the feint hearted.  Zes means 6 in Dutch hence ‘Alpe d’Huzes’.

Book early as we are are always busy.

Tour de France 2024

We are super excited that the Ladies Tour de France 2024 will finish at Alpe d’Huez on  18th August (Stage 8)

Unfortunately the men’s tour is not so near to us this year – The nearest stage is Stage 4 Col de Galibier 2 July 2024 (1 hour from Venosc)

If you want to get close to the action you really need to book at least year in advance.

Maison Cluaran is 15 minutes drive from the final Alpe D’Huez section of Le Tour and the start of stage le Bourg D’Oisans. There are many places near by for spectators to have an excellent view of the race.  You can stay close to us in Venosc where you could choose the world famous Alpe d’Huez climb or the flat section passing le Bourd’Oisans.  A little further out, there is a fast decent to Allemond for example.

Feeling more adventurous? You could drive out into the valleys and spend the day in surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery and beautiful villages before and after taking in the race.  There are many quieter viewing options to choose from.

After all the excitement, you can relax and soak up the atmospheres in Venosc, Alpe d’Huez or le Bour d’Oisans.  It is likely to be super busy!
