Venosc is a world famous, picturesque artisan village set on the mountain side below Les Deux Alpes resort, accessible by a 10 minute ‘telecabine’ ride which in its self is a lovely, giving stunning views of Ecrins National Park. Venosc is situated in amongst some of the most exciting outdoor activity areas in the French Alps. The skiing and boarding areas are extensive and have great variety for all levels of ability.  The Tour de France Alpe D’Huez climb is next door. There are many amazing cycle touring, walking and climbing routes are on Venoscs doorstep. The VTT down hill runs descend some 3500m through Les Deux Alpes finishing in Venosc. There are some lovely bars, cafes and restaurants together with artisan shops in Venoscs ancient and narrow winding, streets making it a quietly lively place of extraordinary beauty.  Download Venosc’s tourist guide from this link.

Maison Cluaran is situated in the heart of le Courtil Venosc (1000m), an exquisite artisan mountain village whose roots extend to before the 17th centuary. It is famous for its beauty and charm, not to mention its artisan shopping, village bars and restaurants.

Venosc is quiet and tranquil, however it is on the doorstep of some of the best skiing, walking, VTT, cycle touring, climbing and paragliding in the French Alpes. Venosc is a superb base for a full range of amazing outdoor activities, or a beautiful quiet place for a rest, creative retreat, or both! Venosc has a couple of restaurant/bars and a couple of cafés together with several shops selling artisan crafts and produce.

A 10 minute walk and 10 minute gondola ride takes you to the vibrant alpine resort of les Deux Alpes. During the sports seasons of winter and summer, you can get pretty much everything you need, including equipment spares and repairs, provisions and extensive night life /events.

There are many other world-renowned locations close by, including La Grave and Alpe d’Huez.
Bourg d’Oisans is the nearest ‘commercial centre’; 15 minutes’ drive and on the journey in to Venosc. Open all year round, you can also get pretty much everything you need, including equipment spares and repairs, provisions and a great night life.
